Live Online Zoom Workshop
About the Event
Who should you have as part of your team when facing death or supporting someone during their journey to the end of physical life?
What does palliative care and hospice specifically mean? Who are the members of the hospice care and medical teams you need to know about? What roles do they play?
What family members, friends, loved ones can make up your more intimate circle of support (for both the individual with an illness and their caregivers)? Who do you feel safe with in your vulnerability?
We will explore other supports that might be needed, such as spiritual care, grief counselling, etc. You will be encouraged to reflect on what the ideal team would look like for you.
Insight: At the end of this workshop you will have a greater awareness of key team members available for end of life support. The truth of how you will need to create your own unique team with the right balance of expertise and heartfelt care, beyond the medical support available. You will have a greater understanding that depending on where you or your loved one choose to die, the services available can vary dramatically. Knowledge will empower you to seek the services, advocate for and engage the support you may not have been aware of. This will vary within different regions and countries.
